Subject: C17 capacitor Kflop
Attachments :

Hello,

During installation of my Kflop , I hit it wih a sharp object and broke one of the onboard capacitors. (C17) See picture.

How can I repair this and what is the value of the capacitor? can I replace it with a normal through hole capacitor?

The board still connects to the pc and line commands are executed correclty, but when I start KmotionCNC the Z DRO shows -1, while X and Y are 0.  I have to reset Z each time manually to 0.

Also sometimes when I hit the INIT button in KmotioCNC the DRO's of XYZ start running simultaneously ver rapidly!

Is this all because of the damaged capacitor C17? or is there another reason?

Please help.

Thanks

Here is the part info for C17:

CAP CERAMIC 8.0PF 50V NP0 0805    YAGEO  CC0805DRNPO9BN8R0  Digikey 311-1097-1-ND

It would probably be difficult and ugly to replace with a through hole part.  Anyone with good soldering skills should be able to replace it.

None of those other issues are likely to be related to the broken capacitor.

The Z DRO not being 0 is likely to be a tool  length offset.  See the Tool Table.

What does your INIT button do?

Regards
